Artist statement
Man often serves as the basis for my work. I am fascinated by the way people reflect in time and space: as wretched, contemplative and spiritual beings. The personal history of a person is also an interesting source of inspiration.
I have found a caricatural, narrative approach to suit my way of expression best. I mostly use bronze and wood as the medium for my sculptures. Silkscreen, monotype and lithography are the most inherent techniques in print-making for me.
My works do not necessarily represent what I have experienced; instead I have channeled what energy is left behind into a creative force of it’s own, spawning new questions which can only be answered by making more art.
The adoption of quality and a high work ethic are important factors for me. Material and technical knowledge are equally important elements, as is creating content for my work.
